Annual General Meeting 2023

All members of the Co-operative are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting on the above date and time.

If you can’t attend

If you can’t attend the meeting please consider nominating a proxy, which means you can ask another person to attend and vote in your place. That person could be another member who attends the meeting or it could be any one of the Management Committee members (excluding the Chairperson).

Please complete a proxy form and return it to the Co-operative’s office by 5.00 pm on Monday 4^th September 2023

Joining the Management Committee

If you feel you can contribute to the work of the Co-operative or want to nominate another member, please complete a nomination form and return it to the Co-operative’s office by 5.00pm on Friday 1^st September 2023. Any nomination received after this date will not be accepted. 

More Information

We need at least 30 members at the meeting, or represented by proxy, for a quorum for the meeting to go ahead.

If we do not have the quorum the meeting will be recalled on Saturday 16^th September 2023 at the same time and venue.

The functions of the Annual general meeting are to:

• Present the Chairperson’s report on the Co-operative’s Activities for the previous year
• Present the auditor’s report and financial statements
• Appoint the auditor for the coming year
• Elect Committee Members and
• Consider any other general business

The Co-operative’s auditor will be attending the meeting to present the audit report and financial statements.

Police representatives were invited to the meeting but unfortunately there is no availability. A separate meeting is arranged for Friday 25^th August 2023 at 12 noon in Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre. We encourage members to attend.

The three local Councillors for the area have been invited and each of them will be invited to make a short report on their work over the past year or answer any questions.
