West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative Limited

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

22nd October 2007

West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative and South Lanarkshire Council are installing recycling collection units in each of the 6 multi storey car parks, to give people in West Whitlawburn the opportunity to participate in recycling.

Challenging recycling targets have been set by European and Scottish Parliaments which need to be met. A large part of the success is due to the support and enthusiasm of householders for recycling. Many people wish to join the thousands of households across the country who make full use of their household recycling collections, helping to make areas cleaner, greener and healthier for current and future generations.

Until now, there has been no opportunity for West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative householders to participate in recycling schemes without travelling outside the area. Thanks to the co-operation between West Whitlawburn Housing Co-operative and South Lanarkshire Council this has now changed.

West Whitlawburn householders can now recycle items without the need to travel to facilities outside the area.

All tenants have received information about what can be recycled, but if you have any questions please contact Stephanie Marshall,Depute Director. For more information about recycling check out the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle website.
